Don’t judge without trying it out!
When I was hesitant about purchasing, the store clerk told me the words, ‘You won’t know until you try it.’ And it’s true.
With the introduction of the Pixel Fold, the foldable smartphone has been generating excitement. On the other hand, Surface Duo hasn’t received as much attention, being seen simply as a dual-screen device. Personally, even after I get the Pixel Fold, I will continue using Surface Duo. Yes, it has become an indispensable device for me over a year of use.
The biggest advantage is the ability to use a “pen”.
The main purpose I use the Duo for is ‘note-taking.’ Whether it’s during work or conversations with others, writing notes on OneNote feels natural and doesn’t cause discomfort to others.
By writing, I can organize my thoughts and highlight important things at the time, which I believe adds more value than just recording.
With digital writing, I can quickly make corrections and it provides excellent readability. Although I knew that the Pixel Fold doesn’t support a pen, I tried using a smartpen, but it didn’t suit me.
OneNote synchronizes seamlessly without much effort, allowing me to easily reference and organize my notes on different devices. I can also quickly find notes from a year ago if needed.
Regarding the weight, it doesn’t bother me much. Since there’s no exposed display, I only have the protect film on the outside and carry it almost naked. Although I’ve accidentally dropped it a few times, there have been no issues for over a year. Since it’s my second device, I don’t put it in my pants pocket, but its weight is negligible when it’s in my bag.
As I mentioned at the beginning, I didn’t think it would be such useful device before I bought it. But once I have one, it completely changes my work and personal style.
