Its unique feature is its stationary nature.
Despite having a built-in battery, it weighs just under 1kg. I think it would be challenging to frequently take it outside like a typical portable audio player. Its true purpose lies in utilizing its abundant features and inputs/outputs for home use.
I have set up CA100T on dedicated spot of my desktop and connected it as follows:
Input:
- Optical input -> Input from the TV
- Coaxial input -> Input from the Blu-ray recorder
- 4.4mm input -> Pulled forward with a 25cm 3.5mm conversion cable for monitoring when playing gadget instruments
Output:
- Mini XLR (3-pin/stereo) balanced -> Converted to a standard-sized XLR connector with the Zoom TXF-8 and connected to the Genelec G One speakers
- RCA unbalanced -> Connected to a Bluetooth transmitter to listen to externally inputted sources with Bluetooth earphone
Sound Quality Impressions
I use SONY IER-M9 connected via a 4.4mm balanced connection.
I really like the hybrid of vacuum tubes and operational amplifiers. The resolution is unquestionably high, yet it doesn’t feel overly analytical, and each note has a presence and warmth. This characteristic absorbs the recording quality of the source to some extent, allowing you to enjoy a wide range of music, both old and new. I find myself getting lost in the music without realizing how much time has passed.
In Alice Sara Ott’s Echoes of Life, the reverb from the recording space is not obtrusive, and there is a reassuring sense of balance from the high frequencies to the low frequencies. In Hiromi Uehara’s Spark, I can clearly distinguish Anthony Jackson’s powerful bass from the piano’s low range. Even in scenes with a high number of musical elements, it delivers the music without any distortion, and I admire the groove and high level of performance from the trio.

Points to note
While it is capable of transmitting and receiving Bluetooth, it does not function as a transmitter for external inputs.
The hybrid amplifier can only be used with the front output of the main unit.
